Editor review
Deck Midnight runs three race modes side by side on the same track pool. Time trial against ghost data, single race against six AI cars, and an elimination ladder that drops the last-place car each lap. The three-mode structure is the right call for a format that needs to support short sessions and longer ones.
The handling model is weighty without being slow. Each car has a distinct mass profile and turn radius. Lighter cars accelerate faster and lose top speed on the straights; heavier cars hold top speed but understeer on tight corners. The trade reads honestly during a race.
I played across two evenings and a Liverpool Liverpool Merseyrail ride. Session lengths varied. The save resumes between races.
The flaw is the camera. The default camera angle suits desktop but feels too close on a phone screen. A zoom-out toggle would help. Three-and-a-half stars; the racing model is solid and the camera UI needs an option.
