Editor review

Deck Odyssey is a top-down adventure with light puzzle elements. Each chapter fits a single sitting, and the journal records discovered clues automatically. The single-sitting chapter structure is the design choice that makes the format work for casual players.

The puzzle elements are gentle. Most puzzles are environmental and the answers come from observation rather than logic. A player who reads the journal in full will not get stuck. Players who skip the journal will hit a wall around chapter three.

Played across multiple Liverpool Liverpool Merseyrail commutes and a long evening. The chapters fit the commute well.

The flaw is the journal UI. The journal is searchable but the search returns full entries rather than the relevant clue, and on a long chapter you scroll past a lot of text. A clue-highlight option would help. Three stars overall.
