Editor review
Deal Cycle is a sequence-building card arcade where you build ascending sequences before the deal-deck empties. Forty levels across four suit-themed sets. The format combines card-game mechanics with arcade time pressure.
What works is the sequence-decision layer. Each card can start a new sequence or extend an existing one. Players must decide which sequence to invest in.
Forty levels with progressive deck depth and sequence-target length. Late levels require longer sequences with shallower deck depth, forcing tight optimisation.
Tested over three Albert Dock cafe afternoon sessions. Touch drag is the natural input. Mouse-drag also works.
Where the design earns its rating is the sequence-recovery design. If you start a sequence and cannot continue it, you can scrap it for partial points. The format does not punish branching decisions.
Where I would push back is the absence of multi-deck mode. Some levels would benefit from larger decks to allow more elaborate sequence-building.
Three-and-a-half stars. Solid sequence-building card arcade with thoughtful recovery design. Worth playing for card-game arcade fans.
